Who we are
Smarter Investments Inc., trading as Smarter Mergers, is the controller of personal data collected through this website. Contact: info@smartermergers.com. The identity of any UK or EU representative and data protection contact will be confirmed here before launch.
What we collect
- Enquiry details you send us: name, contact details, organisation and a short outline.
- Subscription details: email address, frequency and delivery formats.
- Client account data, if you open one: identity and KYC information, company information, documents you upload, signatures and an audit trail of access.
- Concierge conversations with Aurelia, and voice recordings only with your separate consent.
- Essential technical data needed to run the site securely.
How and why we use it
To respond to enquiries (legitimate interests); to send briefings you asked for (consent, which you can withdraw at any time); to take steps towards and perform an engagement (contract); and to meet anti-money-laundering, sanctions and record-keeping duties (legal obligation).
Who we share it with
Our team and our authorised representative, only as needed; service providers who host and secure our systems under contract; data room, e-signature and screening providers; and capital providers only with your agreement and after an NDNC. We do not sell personal data.
International transfers
We work across the UK, US, Gulf and South Asia. Where data moves between countries we use appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
Only as long as needed for the purpose, and for any period the law requires for anti-money-laundering records. A retention schedule will be published here.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict your data, object to processing, or take a copy. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or your local authority. Some records must be kept by law even if you ask us to delete them.
